1. Qualification:
For agricultural and allied subjects, a Master's degree in the relevant subject with a minimum OGPA of 3.20/ 4.00 (under 4 point grading system) or 7.00 / 10.00 (under 10 point grading system) or its equivalent grade in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) / ICAR Institutes irrespective of community is essential with good academic records.
The candidate should possess the basic degree in the concerned Faculty from any State Agricultural University (SAUs) / ICAR Institute.
The candidate should have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB), New Delhi / UGC / Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) etc, which is mandatory.
For subjects other than Agriculture and allied disciplines, a Master's Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent grade and good academic records is required and candidates should have passed the NET examination conducted by UGC/ Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)/ SLET etc.
Communal reservation will be followed as per rules in force.
The candidates appeared for Eligibility Test conducted by ASRB / UGC / CSIR / SLET etc., and awaiting results may also apply for the posts. However they will be admitted for interview only on production of result of pass in the NET/ SLET" (Subject to the approval of Board of Management).
The candidates acquired Ph.D / PDF qualifications in foreign Universities will be exempted from possessing NET / SLET qualification (Subject to the approval of Board of Management).
For the following subjects / disciplines Eligibility Tests are not being conducted by ASRB, UGC, CSIR etc.
1. Nano Science and Technology
2. Bio-Informatics
The eligible applicants in the above disciplines are exempted from passing the NET examination (Subject to the approval of Board of Management).
2. Application:
Application form and instruction to candidates can be downloaded from the http://www.tnau.ac.in/. Completed applications should reach the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore - 641 003 before 5.00 pm on 30.07.2008.
For postal delays the University will not be responsible. The candidates should specify in the envelope as "Application for the Post of Assistant Professor". Filled in applications in triplicate in complete shape should be submitted before the due date. The candidates who are willing to serve in the University for not less than a minimum period of 3 years can only apply and has to execute a bond to the effect, if selected. Spiral binding, sending of loose sheets may be strictly avoided.
Reprints have to be sent in a bound volume / thermal binding.
A crossed dd for Rs.500/- (for candidates other than SC/ST) drawn in favour of "The Comptroller, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore - 641 003" payable at Coimbatore should be enclosed along with the application towards Registration Charges.
The SC / ST candidates may send a demand draft for Rs.300/- drawn in favour of "The Comptroller, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore - 641 003" payable
at Coimbatore. The demand draft should be dated not earlier than 07.07.2008.
